Brummel hooks are commonly used in sailing. The FINSTERWALDER Brummel Hooks, specially developed for paragliding, are manufactured according to the same principle. They serve as a connection between the speed system attached to the harness and the paraglider and are therefore also known as speed system hooks. Almost all paraglider manufacturers use FINSTERWALDER Brummel Hooks in their products.
Titanal hooks are lighter than stainless steel hooks but have the same strength. Hooks made from conventional aluminium alloys are often not strong enough.
The adjustable Brummel hooks allow the rope length of the speed system to be quickly and easily adjusted. The rope is looped in according to the instructions and the set length is securely fixed.
